Austin in particular
Hill Country water moves fast
Thin soil over limestone means rain runs off instead of soaking in. A creek that was dry at lunch can be in a garage by dinner. The drying job starts once the water is gone.

Flash flooding is the local hazard
The City of Austin says the city lies in the heart of Flash Flood Alley, and about 10% of its land is in the floodplain. The Lower Colorado River Authority points to steep hills and shallow soil. Water arrives and leaves within hours, and what it leaves behind is a drying job.

Hard water is hard on supply lines
Mineral content in this water shortens the life of supply lines and water heater connections. A lot of what we extract here started with a fitting rather than a storm.

Older central housing, newer suburbs
A 1950s bungalow near the center and a 2019 build in the north dry very differently. We size the job to the house itself, whatever the ZIP code.

Check the road before you drive
ATXfloods.com shows which low-water crossings are closed in Austin and nearby counties. If water covers the road, turn around. A crew can come once the road is open.

Water from outside counts as dirty water
The IICRC standard puts water rising from creeks and rivers in Category 3, the most contaminated. That usually means wet carpet pad and the lower part of the drywall come out. You hear what has to go before anything is removed.

Winter storms still happen
In February 2021, the winter storm burst pipes and water mains across Austin, and the city went under a boil-water notice. Burst pipes during a hard freeze are the one event that fills every restoration schedule in the state at the same time. We will tell you honestly where you sit in the queue.

Common questions
Austin questions
How fast can a crew reach me in Austin?
We call you back in under 10 minutes with a real arrival window. If you are out past Dripping Springs or Bastrop the number is different from central Austin, and we say which one applies to you.
Do you cover Round Rock, Cedar Park and San Marcos?
Yes, along with Pflugerville, Georgetown, Kyle and Buda. Give us the ZIP code and we confirm on the spot.
Water came in from outside, not from a pipe. Is that still your job?
Yes. Extraction and drying are the same work regardless of where the water came from. What changes is the category of the water, and we tell you which one you have before anything comes out.
What is Flash Flood Alley?
It is the name for the band of Central Texas along the Balcones Escarpment, from the Dallas area down through Austin and San Antonio. It is one of the most flash-flood-prone regions in the country, and Austin sits in the middle of it.
A pipe burst during a freeze. What should I do first?
Close the main water valve, usually near the street or where the line enters the house. Then call us. We call you back in under 10 minutes and tell you how long a crew takes.
Austin crews are on call now.
Once the water drains, the drying clock starts. Call now, or send the details and we call you back in under 10 minutes.
