Water and storm damage in Houston

365 Restoration responds to water and storm damage across Houston and the surrounding metro, 24 hours a day. Gulf humidity makes structures here dry slower than in the drier parts of Texas, which changes how long equipment has to stay in the house. We log photos and moisture readings in every affected room, and the file is yours.

Crews near you in Houston, serving all of Texas

We work anywhere in Texas, and Houston has crews on call around the clock. Give us the ZIP code and the call back tells you how long the drive is.

Dallas, Austin and San Antonio have crews on call as well. Outside Texas, 365 Restoration serves Florida and Illinois, and each city below has its own page.

Houston in particular

Why drying takes longer on this coast

Humidity off the Gulf keeps the air loaded, so a structure that would dry in three days inland often needs five here. Equipment counts and placement change accordingly. Flooding also reaches streets that sit outside the flood maps.

    Humidity is the local variable

August mornings in Houston average 93% relative humidity. Air movers alone do very little in that air. The dehumidifier is what does the work, and undersizing it is the most common mistake we see on jobs that stalled.

Flooding reaches houses that never flooded before

During Hurricane Harvey, about two of every three damaged buildings in Harris County were outside the mapped 100-year floodplain. Drainage in parts of the metro has not kept up with what gets built. A street that stayed dry for twenty years is not a guarantee.

Tropical systems come with both problems at once

Wind opens the roof and rain fills the inside. We tarp first, because drying under an open roof is throwing equipment at a hole.

  4. 04

    Mold moves faster here

The EPA says to dry wet materials within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mold. Warm and wet is the condition mold wants, so that window is tighter on this coast. We log moisture readings from the first day, so you can see how fast each room is drying.

Common questions

Houston questions

How fast can a crew reach me in Houston?

We call you back in under 10 minutes with a real arrival window for your part of the metro. Houston is wide, so the answer for Katy is not the answer for Clear Lake, and we tell you which one you are getting.

Do you cover the whole metro?

Yes. Katy, Sugar Land, Pasadena, The Woodlands, Baytown, Pearland and the rest. Give us the ZIP code and we confirm on the spot.

Why does drying take longer here than my neighbor said it took in Dallas?

Gulf humidity. The air itself is already carrying water, so the dehumidifier has to pull against it. We would rather leave the equipment two more days than sign off on a floor that is still wet underneath.

Can you dry a house after a flood, not just a pipe leak?

Yes. Flood water that comes in from outside is treated as contaminated, so some materials almost always have to come out. Before we remove anything, we tell you what goes and why.

Does homeowners insurance cover flood water?

Only your policy and your insurer can answer that. The Harris County Flood Control District reminds homeowners that a standard home policy does not include flood coverage, which is a separate policy. What we do is photograph and measure every stage and hand you the file.
