Where we work
La Salle, in the Illinois River valley
La Salle is one of the four Illinois cities 365 Restoration serves, together with Chicago, Rockford and Peoria. Send the ZIP code, and the call back tells you how long a crew needs to reach you.
Texas and Florida are the other two states we serve.
La Salle in particular
On the river, between Peru and North Utica
The city writes its name La Salle, while LaSalle County writes it as one word. City limits run from the Illinois River and the I&M Canal north to a mile past Interstate 80, between Peru and North Utica. Houses near the water deal with the river, and the rest deal with storms, sump pumps and frozen pipes.

The river and the canal on the south edge
La Salle's city limits start at the Illinois River and the Illinois and Michigan Canal, the 96-mile canal that opened in 1848. Near La Salle the river's flood stage is 20 feet, and in April 2013 it crested at a record 34.44 feet. That is more than 14 feet over flood stage.

The biggest crests are recent
The three highest crests on record at the La Salle gauge all came in 2008 or later: April 2013, September 2008 and May 2020. The 2008 crest followed heavy rain tied to the remnants of Hurricane Ike. When the river sits that high, drying cannot start until it drops.

Naplate and Ottawa, upriver
On February 28, 2017, an EF-3 tornado with peak winds near 155 mph tore through Naplate and the south side of Ottawa, crossing the Illinois River on the way. During the August 10, 2020 derecho, an EF-1 with winds around 100 mph hit Ottawa again. Both towns sit upriver from La Salle in the same county.

24 below at the Peru airport
The airport in neighboring Peru read 24 below zero at 7:55 a.m. on January 30, 2019, according to the National Weather Service. At that temperature, a pipe in an outside wall or an unheated crawlspace can freeze overnight. The leak usually shows up when it thaws.

A tarp now, the roof later
Permanent roof work in Illinois belongs to contractors licensed under the Roofing Industry Licensing Act. Our part is the emergency tarp over the opening and the drying inside. That keeps the house from taking on more water while you line up the repair.

Common questions
La Salle questions
Do you come out to Peru, Oglesby and Ottawa?
Give us the ZIP code and we confirm it on the call. We call back in under 10 minutes and say how long a crew takes to reach you.
The river is over flood stage. Can you start drying now?
Not while water is still coming in. Pumping a basement while the ground outside is still flooded can push the walls in, so we start once the water outside goes down. The National Weather Service posts the river forecast for the La Salle gauge.
A tornado took part of my roof. Who fixes it?
We tarp it as soon as a crew can reach you and dry what got wet. The permanent repair goes to a licensed Illinois roofer. You get photos of the damage before and after the tarp.
How do I know if water got into the walls?
Often you cannot tell by touch. We check walls and floors with a moisture meter and a thermal camera and write down every reading. You keep that record whether or not anything has to come out.
