Hail and water damage in Dallas

365 Restoration responds to water and storm damage across Dallas and the surrounding metro, 24 hours a day. North Texas sits in one of the heaviest hail corridors in the country, so most of what we tarp here starts on a roof rather than under a sink. A roof hit by hail can leak for weeks before anyone sees a stain, and we log photos and moisture readings in every room.

Dallas in particular

What actually happens to houses here

Hail and straight-line wind drive the calendar in North Texas. Spring is the season, but the damage shows up months later as a stain on a ceiling. That is why we measure before we tell you anything.

  1. 01

    Hail is the local hazard

Dallas County sits in the hail corridor that runs up through North Texas, and Texas had 902 major hail events in 2025 (hailstones one inch or larger), the most in the country for the 11th year in a row. The National Weather Service says large hail hits the Dallas-Fort Worth area nearly every year.

  2. 02

    Bruised shingles fail quietly

A bruised shingle can look normal from the ground and still let water through. The first sign is usually water in an upstairs room, long after the storm. The free inspection checks the roof before that happens.

  3. 03

    Slab foundations change the drying

Most of the housing stock here sits on slab, partly because North Texas clay swells when it gets wet and shrinks when it dries. Water spreads sideways under flooring instead of draining. The wet area is almost always bigger than the spot you can see.

    City of Dallas contractor registration

Permanent construction work in the city requires annual contractor registration. Emergency mitigation and tarping do not wait on a permit.

  5. 05

    Attic heat works against you

A North Texas attic in summer runs hot enough to push moisture down into the ceiling below. Drying from the wrong side makes it worse.

  6. 06

    Tornadoes reach inside the city

On October 20, 2019, an EF3 tornado crossed North Dallas, according to the National Weather Service. When wind opens a roof, the next rain comes straight in. A tarp over the opening keeps it out until the permanent repair.

Common questions

Dallas questions

How fast can a crew reach me in Dallas?

We call you back in under 10 minutes and tell you a real arrival window for your part of the metro. Traffic on LBJ Freeway (I-635) is part of that answer, so we give you the honest number rather than a slogan. If we cannot get there in time to help, we say so on that call.

Do you cover the suburbs?

Yes. Plano, Irving, Garland, Mesquite, Richardson, Arlington and the rest of the metro are inside the same coverage. Give us the ZIP code and we confirm on the spot.

My roof got hail last spring and the ceiling just stained. Is it too late?

It is not too late to dry it, but the drying is more involved because the water has been moving for months. Whether it is too late for an insurance claim depends on your policy, so ask your insurer. We hand you the file with dated photos and moisture readings.

How do I know if hail damaged my roof?

Often you cannot tell from the ground. Look for dents on the gutters or the car, and for shingle granules piling up at the downspouts. In the free inspection a technician checks the roof and tells you in writing what he finds.
